Great case design.
So Pi is providing the emulation or separate board inside?
I have not tried it on my RPi, but i read that AMIGA emulation is not the quickest.

Just watched some YouTube clips. It looks like it runs from RPi.looks like it copies disk into RAM then runs. I guess USB would be much quicker loading if you are just trying to create an image in RAM.
What about fitting the GOTEK floppy emulator instead of floppy drive. Probably cheaper.

If you start talking about speed, the RPi isn't first choice.

Gotek is more expansive than a standard floppy drive. Maybe needs some risky flashing.
I think he got the drive already, so this is neat and "cheap".

Still, the case is best.

I like it a lot, however, the weak link has to be the floppy drive. I still like to use the floppy drive but due to the flakiness of the 3.5" media it could take away some of the fun.

An option to load from an SD card would increase the appeal for a lot of people. (it is already using one for the OS so why not add a games/Apps directory on it for adf/ipf storage).

I love the way this is made, and that it exists, but it doesn't seem very useful.

Love the look of it, but the floppy drive is absolutely pointless and makes the device much larger than it needs to be.

I don't agree with above, I think floppy is cool and provide good case. When you have friends around in living room loading games from floppy adds to retro experience.

Lukassid, you have to wait for the floppy to get dumped to memory, then whatever load time the game itself has. And forget about multidisk games (at this point) or probably original games.

I bet anybody that isn't a mssochist don't want to wait so much to play a shitty Amiga game

surely the floppy drive is the whole point of this device, its unique feature. otherwise just running another emulator albeit in a fancy case.
those saying it should have a floppy emulator - surely thats like buying a retrode to play real console cartridges in emulators then wanting to use rom files instead?

There is a version of UAE for Pi. I am not sure if this uses that or not.

BTW did anyone notice they actually suck in a complete disk AND THEN start emulation?

It's a nice idea, but looks like a missed chance.

That's not the floppy interface it uses. I have been in contact with them about that portion.

And then it's UAE running on an ARM system. While there is very good synthesized hardware available, e.g. Minimig...
