Lots of speculation in there. It sounds rather odd if all that were true and it would only come to light now.

What you mean only now, didn't you hear what they did to Kojima or "that guy who made Castlevania games" months ago? How many games they sacked?

Nope. The only thing I saw were some business decisions and a whole lot of websites copying a whole lot of assumptions from each other.

Oh, right, bussiness decisions, that's a great way to put it, you should work for Konami

It's new era of media sensationalism... actually when I think about it, nothing new about it... people still buy it...

Perhaps some of the assumptions are correct, but I'll only believe it when Kojima says something about it. until then, Konami is the same money making machine it always was, operating in countries with a culture that is rarely understood by outsiders.

Konami were once a great company (late 80s / early 90s), but recently the only thing I associate with them is Kojima's Metal Gear Solid franchise. I haven't seen anything of Castlevania since 10 years ago, with the exception of the recently released unofficial Spectrum game.

Konami, like Capcom and SNK, used to be the masters of 2D games. It seems they have lost their way in recent years.

Only played the first one of them for a bit, but it's really a great looking and very solid game. No idea where they'll go from now without Hideo, but I'd recommend to check those out if you like Castlevania games.

The DS Castlevania games are also brilliant - and 2D. The Strider reboot was also pretty decent and a 2D platformer. Capcom and Konami haven't lost the touch nor the willpower to do what they did best - there simply is less demand for it so it would be retarded to keep that as their core game design.

Regardless, lets not make the mistake to think that Konami is a game developer/publisher. That's not their core business at all. They can tank the MGS franchise and the Castlevania franchise just like they did the Silent Hill franchise and they'll still do fine.

Latest news. Konami's HQ is on fire.

But hey, we're talking about Konami, so this news is just another big disappointment as well.

That sucks.

Kojima deserves that award, without him Konami probably wouldn't be around today.

Okay, NOW I'm 100% convinced that Konami is the root of all evil.
