Yesterday, I watched some youtube clips, and some english doctors had interesting proposal:

Just let it go, don't stop it, or, even, encourage it... who dies - dies, who lives - lives, and in approximately 2 weeks, all will be over, and if we quarantine ourselfs like we do now, all this could last for 6 to 9 months.
They also mentioned heard immunity.

I personally very much disagree, but what do you think?
Is this proposal a crime, or a perfectly legit option?

Photos of motorists getting their temperature checked look like they're being car-jacked. There are also photos of entire streets being disinfected.

I thought the toilet paper thing was a tad annoying, but now the mandatory public holidays... when do things return to normal service?

People are recovering from this scare-rona virus, but you don't see that as breaking-news.

Heard immunity for this virus is reached when about 60% of the population is immune. And yes, we need to reach that point before this will be over. If we just let it run rampant, it will not be over in 2 weeks since the incubation time is usually around one week. That means it takes one week for each generation of the virus. It could be over in 2 weeks if we deliberately infected the entire population however if we did this, millions more would die on a global scale. Most of those people who would die without treatment would pull through if they received proper treatment in time, however this is only possible if infections are rolled out very slowly as no health care systems are geared towards handling such a massive influx of people.

So no, it is not an option to just let it run, unless you want to be remembered as a mass murderer along side Hitler and Stalin.

I think this will happen mostly anyway. Not sure if a quarantine really helps that much. Considering that it has an incubation time of up to 14 days I would expect that it still lurks somehwere and it starts all over again. Even if the whole world would be quarantineed perfectly for a on month, then is the virus killed? It came from somewhere, where it could exist without anybody noticing, so I don't believe that it goes away just like this.

China is celebrating that it's over for them? Really? Once they open up borders again, what will stop it to come back from somewhere else?

Man i was watching the progress in Italy, they had 200 cases nobody cared, football stadiums full, cafe full etc. They reached 1000, football stadiums full, cafe, theatres, some concerts etc. After they started dying 150/day they took serious measures but was too late due to extreme spread of the virus.

Everything is different in China, they can build 20 hospitals in 1 day. They have the money and the means to stop it if they want.

Apparently not. Of course they have the advantage that they can put more drastic measuers without much problems.

Well, maybe not in these words, but that's the point basically.
I can't find exact videos where I heard that (you can imagine how many clips are uploaded on youtube each hour), but here's something similar.

From 10th minute:

@manicx
Do you consider yourself belonging to the crowd of SURVIVALISTS ? It seems to me your statement implies just that.

John Oliver said it is time everyone pretend to be British Parent, who pretends everyone else is their child and keeps at least 6 feet distance...

BTW, as always to the point show...

I am more inclined towards the refined, if slightly heady side of UK pop rock (pay attention to the lyrics) :

French version is more common :

by the way, these words "War, hugh! What is it good for ? Absolutely! - nothing!" can also be heard in War, the Frankie Goes To Hollywood cover.

Not medical advice by any means, and surely that scene involving Trump shaking hands was a bit shocking but, in hindsight, I believe that virus transmits itself through spluttering, kissing any kind of oral activity, not so much by shaking hands. In shops, especially in grocery stores (well at least in Paris), people barely speak to one another, so maybe our well-known lack of exuberance mixed with our tendency to rush shopping duties preserved us to some extend.

If he's got the virus on his hands (if he is infected and coughed in it, or shook hands with someone who did), then shaking hands with someone else will transmit it to their hands and when they touch their eyes or nose for example, it can enter the body. People touch themselves in the face all the time, so getting it on your hands is a very common way of getting yourself infected with a virus.
