Just out of interest (as I'm too lazy to look it up / try it) when you dismount something does AmigaDOS free up any buffers that were assigned to the device in a mountlist? And ones added afterwards with AddBuffers?
I think the answer might be 'yes' but thought I'd ask for definate Last edited by musashi5150; 21 December 2006 at 13:32. |

No. DOS Manual 1.3 and 3.1 says the device is just removed from the list, nothing freed.

Well, I remember that assign drive: remove is NOT as powerful as assign drive: dismount! assign remove will sometimes give up, i. e. some drives won't be removed!
assign dismount (KS 2.04 + only!) can be real brutal if the user wishes so, though; even pull the rug out from under the device(s), so to speak USE WITH CAUTION. |
