"CDTV" images not working on CD32
I downloaded a bunch of unofficial games form the FTP, they all seem to be using the CDTV bootstrap (Anotehr World, Globdule, DeluxeGalaga) and I NEVER managed to make them work. The CD32 just doens't recognize them and stays on the boot animation screen.
I tested them in WinUAE and the same happens. So how does one go about at playing CDTV games? I thought they were compatible. Anyway, it would be good if the Unofficial conversions team (hi earok! ) fixes these games to include the proper CD32 bootstrap! [edit] update, on WinUAE, if I start them from a cold boot, they seem to run, but not on a reset. Another World still doesn't run and I think that's the CDTV version. I have to try if this happens on my CD32 too. Be back later |

Try inserting disk when you see CD32 logo, not before power up.

That doesn't work. A lot of games don't work after the anim appeared, I guess it might take a little bit of needed extra RAM to display it? Not sure.
Anyway the CDTV games don't work at all. No matter what I tried, cold boot, soft reset, before the anim, after the anim. Another World just doesn't run. I am having issues with some unofficial conversions based off WHDLoad too, for example, Harlequin, Lost Vikings and GLobdule. They run on WinUAE (with unbearable flashes) but not on my CD32 (gets stuck with a black screen after a bunch of loading). I think these images have not been done by the current Unofficial CD32 team, so they are old and might have problems. Maybe someone thought them running on WinUAE was good enough, but never tested them on a real CD32? (I don't think it's the burning because I tested the discs on WinUAE and they seem to work too). |

It might also mean that your CD32 does not like CDRs.

The CD32 runs FINE with CDRs man, everything else works.
It's ONLY CDTV images and badly made WHDLoad "CD32 versions". |

I avoid WHDLoad where possible, if its not needed then its lazy to use the WHDLoad version. I recently make my own AnotherWorld disc just for CDTV.

I avoid it too, but I downloaded this ISO from the FTP and had no idea it was a WHDLoad thing. I loaded it up on my PC and saw the files and the slave.
The problem is there are a LOT of games that have not been converted properly to the CD32 How did you do that disc? Does it work on your CD32? Can you share it? The one I downloaded does NOT work. |

I can confirm "Another World CDTV.zip" (CRC 55775401)
does not work in WinUAE as a CD32 or a CDTV. In fact the CDTV shows a Red/Orange Screen > Thus: Last edited by Nobby_UK; 12 December 2015 at 01:45. Reason: spelling |

There is a French version of AW that works in WinUAE (CDTV).
Another_World_(1991)(Delphine_-_U.S._Gold)[m_Nowee][a][ISO] CRC 43674588 but does not work in CD32. |

@fol sorry mate, will check out your build soon.
Agreed re: best not to use whdload where possible, saves OS flashes etc. For the meantime, Another World is on the 160 game collection if you really want to play it and it should work. |
