USB Joystick with XBOX WinUAEX?

Hi there,

I have an old XBOX running WinUAEX which is great but I'd love to use my Competition Pro USB joystick with it. I've seen that you can get a USB converter for the XBOX but will it work with a USB joystick?

I know you hack an XBOX controller with some soldering to use an original Amiga joystick but this isn't good for me.

Any help is much appreciated!

Sorry no, the only way is to hack a controller.

USB converters is for mice and keyboards.

Suppose that would be too easy! I'd better dig the soldering iron out then...

Yeah, hacking is the only way unfortunately! I'd love to be able to use many of my USB peripherals like my USB Saturn pad and USB SNES pad.

Can I also bring to your attention in case you don't already know about the "Amiga Xtras Starter Kit" which you can find more detail about here?

Um, actually... I wouldn't know about winuaex & Competition pro, but the stick it self should work just fine, IF you got drivers for it. And this is, of course, where the troubles start. There is pretty much only 2 ways to do what you want. One is to make the emulator load a HID driver for your stick. Now, i doubt there is any developers out there willing to write a emulator that does that, so it's pretty much just the next option left. Linux. It's not going to be winuaex, but some other flavor of uae should cover your needs, and xbox linux should support your stick.

Admittedly, i would simply give up, and possibly hack my stick to work, But it's not impossible to get it running...
