Will 1200 3.1 Roms work on 4000?

Not a lot more to add to the above statement really

I just wanted to know if I could use A1200 3.1 Roms in a 4000D or is there a different set needed for the 4000?

No. They might work for limited activities, but since A1200 address bus is narrower than A4000, you'll probably not be able to see any Zorro boards and probably there are many other possible problems I can't imagine at the moment (A4000 sets are different)

I'm sorry, but that is not relevant to the ROMs.

The A4000 ROMs have a different collection of modules in them, that's true, but if the A1200 ROMs start in the A4000, there's no reason why you couldn't use them.. The IDE controller may be at a different address, that's the only other caveat I can think of.
