Do i need A600 model to use with WinUAE ?
Hi guys
As title says, i actually use (with WinUAE) A500 and A1200 models Now the question is : do i need also the A600 model ? Actually, at the moment i didn't find anything that requires this kind of machine It's just a case ? There are games / demos which need ONLY the A600 ? Thanks in advance, chip |

The A600 is essentially an A500+ with a hard drive interface plus PCMCIA. The A500+ is an A500 with the ECS chipset and 1MB of chip RAM.
There are some games and demos which need the extra chip RAM but you don't specifically need an A600, no. |

I'd say generally no. But some games might need 2 MB.

to write an application specifically for the Amiga 600 would be odd, rather doubt there were any retailed anyway
about the only reason I can think of to specifically configure WinUAE(or whatever emulator) for the Amiga 600 would be if you have a physical Amiga 600 and wanted to simulate the hardware as closely as possible (like maybe to configure a CF card for actual use on the machine) ... and even then, the configuration wouldn't exactly NEED to be absolutely 600 specific |
