Do i need A600 model to use with WinUAE ?

Hi guys

As title says, i actually use (with WinUAE) A500 and A1200 models

Now the question is : do i need also the A600 model ?

Actually, at the moment i didn't find anything that requires this kind of machine

It's just a case ?

There are games / demos which need ONLY the A600 ?

The A600 is essentially an A500+ with a hard drive interface plus PCMCIA. The A500+ is an A500 with the ECS chipset and 1MB of chip RAM.

There are some games and demos which need the extra chip RAM but you don't specifically need an A600, no.

I'd say generally no. But some games might need 2 MB.

to write an application specifically for the Amiga 600 would be odd, rather doubt there were any retailed anyway

about the only reason I can think of to specifically configure WinUAE(or whatever emulator) for the Amiga 600 would be if you have a physical Amiga 600 and wanted to simulate the hardware as closely as possible (like maybe to configure a CF card for actual use on the machine) ... and even then, the configuration wouldn't exactly NEED to be absolutely 600 specific
