One on One by Electronic Arts
My copy is currently being dumped by the SPS. Was there ever an extended ADF version of One on One for use within WinUAE? I can't find one.

This is a rare one... I've heard people request this before.

I'm sure someone can help. It can't be *that* rare as SPS have dumped it and it has a WHDLoad install available.

I've uploaded it to the Zone - but can't get it working. I recall that it might need a special config...

Requires KS 1.2 most likely (like all/most very old EA games)
EDIT: perhaps even A1000 KS 1.2, not A500 KS 1.2 (different revision) Last edited by Toni Wilen; 16 October 2007 at 21:13. |

Is that a WHDLoad-installed version or an ADF?
EDIT: ADF obviously. |

Oh, and the WHDLoad version is on WHDownload too, so it's not that hard to find after all

Probably not worth trying (I presume it's a bad dump which misses a needed protection check?)
Tried everything "old-school", even 256 chip mem stuff - no way. Unfortunately my A1000 setup is not ready at the moment...(changed location) - is there anyone with an A1000 around who could test the ADF on the real thing? |

I'm usually pretty good at getting games to work. I tried pretty much everything as well. Kickstart 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3...etc. None of them work and no amount of tweaking the settings gets this one to work on WinUAE. It gurus at the same point every time. Looks like a duff ADF to me.

Zoned image is most likely broken. Also crashes on real KS 1.2 A500. (or requires really weird configuration..)

The adf file on PlanetEmu that Retro-Nerd linked to works. All this talk of turn off the 2nd drive, and 100% drive speed, etc. are not relevant and took me 3 days to sort through all combinations that still did not work. There is one key to this game, the exact kickstart. It is not just using v1.2, but this particular from TOSEC
Kickstart v1.2 rev 33.180 (1986)(Commodore)(A500-A2000)[o].rom You'll know the game is working if at sector 50 on the drive (green light) instead of the red Guru the screen turns dark blue, then lighter blue, etc. for a few seconds before decrunching. Enjoy this fun game. I'm using my Stella Adaptor to steer Dr. J with my old Atari joystick now! |
