.FLR extension?

I got some very old files that I found on some disks I got when I bought my first A1200, and they have the .FLR extension. It seems they are some kind of database or spreadsheet data, from what I have inspected.

Anybody knows which software these are for?

Uhm, this is an AMiga forum, right?
I am looking for an Amiga file format. And FLOOR TEXTURE has nothing to do with spreadsheets and databases.

According to what I can see, regarding the Amiga this time

.FLR was a Folder (File Name Extension)

http://amiga.serveftp.net/acronyms.html It's about a third of the way down.

It appears to be some kind of database file. I have no idea which database program it was generated with and the entries are in a foreign language (looks vaguely Spanish to me, which might be accurate, since you're Argentinian, IIRC

).

The entries seem to describe Amiga software programs (AMIGA SOFTWARE POR PROGRAMA) by the entries Title (TITULO), Unknown

(TIPO), Description (DESCRIPCION), (Number of) Disk(s)? (DISK) and Date (DATE).

I'm sorry if this is already obvious to you, but since you've had no replies in a while...

I think we might just need to identify a Database program for AmigaOS.

BTW, what's the translation for TIPO?

"Tipo" means type. I am guessing this means type of game? It could also be "kind of like", for example, I see a reference to a game "like Kick Off".
Did you go at it with an hex viewer? Why did I not do that? :P Still pretty unreadable.

Akira: There was a AmigaSOFT company in New Zealand selling pirated disks for about $2.50USD. Does this database mention anything about New Zealand?

I remember seeing using the Database viewer to view the game list before they swapped to a .txt format and using MuchMore.

Yeah I used to have that one, now I use a Notepad++ extension instead.
Anyway, hoping someone out there what kind of freaking spreadsheet format this is and what to use to open it! Maybe it isn't an AMiga format?

This is an Argentine list, not from New Zealand.
The archive name has nothing to do with the name of where this was sourced from or anything, it just means "amiga software" :P

#1) tested with Pen Pal 1.3.4: file --> open database will open the amigasoft.flr file

I'm guessing that Pen Pal v1.3.14 is the name of a Database program designed for Penfriend lists, which might lend itself equally to compiling a software list.

Edit: Obviously, I missed emufan's test and your post, Akira.

Dude... even if you open the archive in WinRAR (and then "View" the file from within) or also open with "Notepad" you will see all the information prowler has provided
