Big grin Modded cs-ppc , socketed oscillators on small "pcb"

I have sent my 200mhz csppc to JJB to upgrade the 060 with the newer mask one, and make a little mod to allow easy oscillator changes... I had the idea to put the oscs on the back side, and JJB made a small "pcb" that allows them to be socketed! I will test now the 64mhz 060...
sorry for the crap pic, I only have here a Nokia6680 , but you can get the idea....

I got a nice speed jump on the 060 side...
50mhz -> cpu ~65 mips , ~fpu 25 mflops
64mhz -> cpu ~85 mips , ~fpu 34 mflops

It might be worth playing with the advance settings in the CPU060 program.

You can change the wait states of the RAM bus.

By adding more wait states you should be able to clock the CPU higher without fear of crashing etc.

cool Amigaz

@alexh:

I did not get any crashes, but I noticed some AGA pixels changing colors. turrican2 slave played music at ~70% of the normal speed, and I had to disable chipmem caching in whdload.prefs to fix that... also some goldengate crash occured, typical with high-speed amigas... for now I went back to the original 50mhz oscilator and all work great (I use this csppc on a 4000 with pIV and gg486slc) ... maybe it worths doing the small mod to allow 3 oscillators, and thus having the 060 clocked seperatelly...

I just ordered new osc, 80 also included. Actually all I'm after was 50 but got 80 and 64 with it.

Is osc controlling Apollo1240 speed?
