Yep, of course. I was thinking that if Blitz mode was a possibility, the aim was classic hardware only anyway. WBlit is indeed system-friendly, but using the Blitz window graphics instructions are quite limited in general compared to the main bitmap blitting commands. I guess he needs to decide what his target spec is really. The built-in blitting commands are excellent and easy to use, but only work on classics. The AmiBlitz includes are similarly easy to use, but aren't supported in Blitz Basic 2 and are tricky to use if you want to stay compatible with native screenmodes. The OS is as good way to go, but is much more complicated than either of the previous two systems and so is a steep learning curve if you haven't done it before.

"Very much, with some minor adjustments". (or whatever you english spk guys would translate that to....) ;-)

So the lack of a proper machine is starting to irritate me and i decided to try to use my old p3/900 and usb stick to continue development but now have the problem that since have a "parallel" XP no service pack need to use a version a of UAE that is quite old - might say 10+ years old - and when i try to compile on blitz it freezes up... might be WinUAE itself or am messing up some parameters?

Blitz should work fine under UAE, I've used it occasionally for many years, including under XP so it should work. Having said that, there could be something funky going on that the emulation doesn't work. Can you compile simpler projects? Does it compile without the debugger enabled?

By the way, this morning after a bit i finally got double buffering in my head: draw in 0, swap to 1, clear 0 and draw again! Now need really to put hands on the code again...
