Amiga Revival Fair 2009 - Tables Available!!!!

New Update:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello all,

I am pleased to announce that the table/hall layout has been finalised and we have tables available for Amiga Developers/Traders/User groups etc.

The Tables are FREE (We just ask you to make a donation to the club funds of whatever you can afford)

Tables will be allocated on what we feel will add value to the event and not on a first come first served basis.

Additionally, I am personally asking, is there anyone out there in the UK who uses Hollywood and wouldn't mind doing a product demonstration in our Demonstration area?

Other programs, etc welcome!

Please post back here or PM me. I'll get in touch.

The Amiga North Thames Website will be updated in the coming weeks to include details of the event.

Mikey C

Earlier post.

Hello All,

Just a quick note on what's happening so far......

- Well to be honest not a lot, we have dealers on board, We may even have someone from Hyperion attending too (subject to confirmation).

Date and venue wise, we are looking at one day of the weekend of 12-13 of December. The venue will be in Enfield, Middlesex, GTR North London. (Will have confirmation within 3 weeks) Please note that location may change venue wise.

I am aware that there have been many attempts on here to have an EAB gathering, so, if we do have a type of event, we would be happy to set aside an area for EAB people.
What we need to know is what are your requirements in terms of table space, power etc and what would you like to do there.
(Note we cannot serve any alcohol at the venue. Food and drinks will be available though) Its your area, debate :-)

Additionally, if you can actually pledge your support to attend on the date, we would be grateful

Regards

Mikey C
Amiga North Thames Chairman.

I *should* be able to make it down on that weekend, provided the venue isn't miles away from any public transportation as I don't drive.

Would like to put faces to names!

Hmm

The response from people here who have wanted to attend a meet together so far, is underwhelming.

Only 45 mins down there road - if the M25 isn't a car park. It's possible, but also a loooooong way off yet so all manor of things could crop up.

Would love to pop along to my first Amiga gathering since about 95.

Not meaning to be negative but...

Maybe you should rename it something other than "revival", it just sounds a bit hopeless..

No offence

Well, given that a number of people here feel the amiga is dead, and think any new effort is either not an Amiga or "leave it be" perhaps we should rename it, "Amiga Wake 2009?"

How's that?
:-)

What is the nearest railway station? How far is it from said station?

And who visiting fancies going to the pub after?

Okay, Depending on where you are coming from

Enfield Town, from Liverpool Street, 8-9 min walk if that.
Enfield Chase
Or OakWood Station on the Picadilly line. If we get enough requests, we may run some form of free taxi/shuttle service from Oakwood Station to the venue. (and back!)

Are you serious? 8-9 min walk from Shoreditch to Enfield?

EDIT - just to quantify that, Liverpool Street to Old Street is almost 10 mins on foot. Just surprises me Enfield can potentially be done so quickly!

lol!

ah, sorry about that, I meant that Enfield Town is on the Liverpool Street Line.

Enfield Chase Station connects from Moorgate to Letchworth, however if you change at Stevenage you can connect from as far as Peterborough, and Kings Lynn. (plenty of trains run to peterborough from all over the UK.
Or from London Kings Cross.

Hey Mikey,

The forthcoming Amiga Revival Fair 2009 is the main feature in the Amiga Mart column in this week's Micro Mart (Issue 1075, 1-7 October 2009).

No, that's a bit tactless, but is he right about the 2009 being tacked onto the end of the name? Can we really expect to see more of them in the future if this one's successful?

BTW, did Sven interview you to get the info for the feature? And do you know if he will come too?

Nah, he didn't interview me, I think he's got more important things to do, like clean out his naval fluff ;-)

But I have known Sven for years, so I guess he saw the press release and run with it.

Yes, 2009, if its a success, we WILL do more, but we need to fill the place up, not just with attendees, but with things to see and do, hence why we are hoping some people take up the tables.

I see. I'm presently on a buying spree myself, but there are a few members here having a clearout who could do worse...
