Funnily enough the first Google result for 'Buy Turrican 2 MS-DOS' is a website on which you can play the game via DosBox

if you let people download the "original" from abandonware sites and create your version from that I fully understand and I think it's a good idea, as long as no-one distributes the files directly (whdload download sites, EAB FTP server...)

For example RunOut (outrun remake) needs MAME roms. New Super Mario bros (Nintendo DS hack) needs original Super Mario bros ROM, and so on...

The only bad alternative is to bury the project.

If I do decide to play it safe and require the MS-DOS version, this is how it would work:
To play on Amiga, you would run a program that I provide that takes the MS-DOS original file (which would likely come from the abandonware downloads you mention), and converts it to a new format that can be run on your Amiga.
If I release the PC version too, then you would be able to run it natively on Windows, as long as the original MS-DOS files are present.

The alternative is that I release the final bundled files myself including the assets I don't own the rights to. The final playable game is the same either way.

i presume a complete different name, without references, would not solve anything?

I assumed the EOB1&2's rights are owned by EA as for C&C.

Nice name suggestions so far

But why changing the Name at all ?

Konami had no problem with Metal Gear by Hoffman,
Nintendo had no problems with the various Super Mario Bros´es and Zelda´s...
(and they did shut down the C64 Super Mario Bros.)

So, why bother at all with a name change ?
Do you really think something bad will happend ? Its a passion project after all.

Nobody getting hurt here - Just my oppinion; what do i know

The only thing i would change (; if i could) ,is to have an option for the Original Amiga Intro and the Amiga Sprites

I think the name is less of a problem. The main problem would be the assets of the original PC version. There's plenty of mods that require you to have the original files and I can't think of one that got into trouble.

iCurrant - it's an anagram of Turrican - and as we know - putting i in front of anything makes it hip and cool.

i cant fault the logic tbh, but as a counter argument however, anything with an i before it also super inflates the price tag while bringing forced obsolescence so that iCurrent2 can get more sales.

This theme song is something, but you had to be a pre-teen in early '80 Italy to get goosebumps for it

Considering what it's about we have all grown up very well
