This sort of thing baffles me - if a repair isn't going the way you expect, STOP before something is f'ed and think about the process or do more research. If you can't do it perfectly, send it to someone who can.

Agreed. What a mess! Some of the pictures almost make me cry. It reveals not only an absolut lack of soldering abilities but tons of incompetence too.

How can someone be so brute?

I guess it will keep the smoke out of here eyes from the burning flesh, although I would hope they have fume extraction though as It won't smell too great I doubt.
