A500 with ks 3.1 sometimes kickstart most time black screen

Any thoughts ?

First thing comes to my mind is timing , putting floppy jumper to boot faster seems to encourage ks purple floppy screen to appear more than without .

About 2/10 boots show kickstart it's random though . Black screen grey screen is a loop that sometimes shows the floppy eventually.

Any ideas where I should be looking ?

CPU would be my first suspicion. Swap it, check the socket, etc.

Then check the power leads for proper voltage.
