Alfapower 500+ hard drive with cf card

So I set up my 4gb sandisk card on winuae with workbench 3.1 which when I have that attached to my laptop it boots into workbench showing the partitions is made with the exact system settings that I have on my Amiga 500+ however I’m running it through my alfapower hardrive connector with ide to cf reader adapter and when I turn it on the power light flashes and it just keeps rebooting and can’t seem to read the card.... is there some sort of set up needed for the alfapower? It has previously worked with an older hard drive but I somehow managed to wipe that... so had to start over and haven’t been able to get it to read anything of any size since under 1gb upto 4gb physical hard drives and this new card?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Paul

Make sure your boot partition is less than 500mb, it may need the latest epeom, i
Helped a friend get one up and going first issue was switch wiring, then we had to burn new eprom to setle it down with cf cards
