[Found: Tensai] Name of Old Game
The main sprite looked like leander, similar to a samurai but it looked like it was futuristic. the backgrounds looked kind of post apokoliptic with downed sky scrapers etc.
Any ideas, its been pecking my head for ages

No don't think so the guy looked just like the sprite from Leander but it was based in the future. I remember in the demo you kind of walked down a ravine and the backdrop was collapsed sky scrapers I seem to remember that he had a big sword (oooer) It might not have come out in the end unless it was an early version of leander
