Legend of Grimrock
This looks like it could be a very cool Dungeon Master / retro game when(if) it is completed:

Looks professional at a first glance, but we have to see at least a video in action when it'll be ready.
Hope that they will release the sources, so that an AmigaOS 4.x port can be a reality (if it's gonna be freeware of course). |

Looks really great, but I wonder if you can move and turn freely or if you move in steps and right angles like in EotB.

To many, it might feel silly to make a 3D game in this day and age that constrains itself to grid based movement and environments but it actually works rather nicely when you think of combat as a game of tactics and timing. It seems it's going to be the same as DM/EOB etc... which is good, because now, in theory, the graphics can be pre-rendered and used in an AGA version with low CPU requirements |

That game looks incredibly cool! The artwork really oozes atmosphere. Oh let it be a nice old school RPG polished with modern assets; I can really used a game like that. Its only so much fun to replay the classics for the umpteenth time |

It does look rather pretty and would be nice if it made it to the Miggy, but it seems the target OSs are iOS, Mac & PC.
Of course, if pre-rendered locations were stored on the CD, and next locations buffered for quick screen changes (while you were fighting, working on the current screen), this could be viable on a decent A1200. I wonder if they'd consider doing a Miggy version if we all asked loud enough |

I don't like the interface and the characters' graphic, too plastic looking, and the 3D world could use a bit of grit and dirt. That said, it looks better than every other try at that kind of 3D remake.

FPDC games making a comeback?
I just thought this was interesteing enough that it warrants attention even from the rest of... anyone heard of "Dungeon Master" and it's clones, like EoB? Yes?
Well, those of the world that loved these games, I hope is happy to know there's a brand new game of the genre that is atm in alpha, Legend of Grimrock. The gameplay teaser vid at http://techzwn.com/2011/10/legend-of...dungeon-crawl/ certainly looks interesting to me.... and it looks kinda like a DM-ish style of magic system as well.... which for me sounds great Well.. even though it's not a game for a proper computer, I be intruiged by this and will folllow it's updates. |
