Elysium is far from brilliant, although I was hoping for a lot. Not seen Chappie yet but I'm hoping for good things.

Its quite entertaining though. It actually provided me amusement where District 9 only made me miserable.

Agreed looking forward to seeing Chappie, it looks to be quite humorous.

the Grand Budapest Hotel

The movie is quite unlike anything I've seen recently; goofy would be the right term to describe it. Pure enjoyment another.

Its just so odd I wouldn't be able to describe any of it. See it to believe it.

8.5/10

I agree gimbal, great film. If it wasn't nominated for best comedy at the Oscars I would give it a miss as it sounds shit. Nothing could be further from the truth though, best film I've seen recently.

It was great to see Jeff Goldblum in a fitting role again too. The guy still got it.

I heard good things about the movie, will give it a shoot. I just saw last night that they have 'Millions ways to die in the west' on HBO and probably soon will watch that as well. I like what Seth has done with Cosmos and popularization of science.

A serious zombie movie with Arnie? Looks like it might work.

Why?

After 30-some years, Arni has every right to try to be 'real' actor...

Hey, there is nothing unreal about the gigantic pile of blockbuster movies he can put on his resume. Its easy to joke about him but he's also delivered quite a few gems and that makes him a more worthy actor than most.

But a dramatic zombie movie... This is a movie version of Telltale's the Walking Dead game Season 1 as it already explored the very idea that the trailer hints at (child zombifying, how to emotionally deal with that as a parent).

There is also the Walking Dead the TV show which is kept alive on life support because all the ideas ran out long ago.

Who is still waiting for something like this in this over-zombied and over-vampired day and age? Not me, that's for sure. Ahnold is not going to change that.

Actually, some people see "The Last of Us" in it.

The Last Of Us has a slightly original aspect to it where the aftermath is not complete societal breakdown and the pending eradication of all human life; it revolves around human society actually slowly starting to cope with the existence of the zombies. I see that aspect coming back in the trailer, and that's about all of the game I see in it.

Truth be told, I'd rather go see a movie adaption of the Last Of Us than this.

It looks to me like that as well, like some bit different 'Last of us'...

@ Gimbal,

Tell you the truth, I did not watch some of latest Arni's movies. It is just somehow 'not the same', and I like him more like action hero then this drama tryout. It's almost like p0rn actress going main stream movie venture...

I still find movie interesting, as I don't watch all Zombie movies/series out there... I did watch all True Blood, but no single episode of Walking Dead and reason is simple, it just does not make sense to me and looks like whole idea can work only on strong life support... for season, two... and be already dead.

Last interesting 'zombie' movie was World War Z just for unusual and on steroid zombies... but that was nothing new, as we've seen the same in I am Legend.

That trailer make me wonder what will happen.... even there are no words to describe how stupid in some post-apocalyptic earth makes sense for girl to walk alone at night....

Basically with the idea "saw the first two parts, might as well finish it", I saw the Hobbit: the Battle of the Five Armies.

Yeah what can you say other than "MEH!". CGI crap-fest lacking story, don't expect anything more.

5/10

It might be due to actual book being small and they tried to milk 3 movies out of it. I was thinking to watch it in movie theater, but lately I never find time or will to go there.... so I watched yesterday half of the movie.

I do like how they did changes in Thorin, but I agree... it is big CGI candy... still will watch rest probably today. On positive side, they seem to intend to explain some stuff that was missed in LotR movies. So far IMHO its 6/10. Would be better if it had power to keep me watch last night...

I have yet to watch any of The Hobbit films, and I don't think I will ever get around to it.

Pulling three films out of a lightweight novel just screams "money grab" to me.

It is indeed a bigger investment of your time than it is worth. It would have been a lot better if each movie would have had an hour less fat.
