Wolfenstein 3D question

Hi!

I'm trying the Wolf 3D port... does it have sound or music? I am not able to hear anything.

Regards,

Same here. A bit strange since it requires 'dmxemul.library'. The initial release states 'no sound at all'. Seems like that never changed.

Amiga never got a finished port. Atari users did, somat wrong with that ..

Prolly best off playing the mac version through shapeshifter, runs well on 030 / 040. I remember trying the pc version through pctask many years ago. not what id call playable at 1 fps hehe.

The atari port was not a commercial release. Strangely enough it uses an 8MHz 68000! But it was worked on for years and years by the author to get the optimisations.

But to be honest why bother? Why not just play the PC/Mac native versions that have been recently ported with uprated gfx?

Perhaps even play the iPhone version which I believe is the best version yet.

I would recommend to also have a look at the Jaguar version.

I have a 3DO , I've got it from a "a lot of videogames, consoles, etc..." pack from EBAY which costed me... 148 euros with shipment costs from USA. Nobody bid for this pack!!!

FreeDO is the only emu worth trying but the sound is pretty choppy, i bought my 3DO for £40 inc carriage, but make sure you don't get a goldstar as they are poo, the UK Pal has composite and s-video, and even better all 3DO's are region free and there is no copy protection

Tried FreeDO 2.02, but it's in Russian, so most of the menu options are literally '?????' Since the sound would be the import part I guess I will think about a real console or just wait a few years Thanks for the info Juv
