Nice little corner you have there.
If you knew how excellent Amiga looks on 1084S with an RGB cable you wouldn't ask the question. Beautiful pillow-shaped pixels surrounded by a nice glow like on those romance scenes filmed with vaseline on the lens (for real!) With a 23-pin D-SUB connector and a 6-pin DIN connector you can make your own, if you can solder. [Edit: to get D-Sub buy an Amiga-scart cable f.ex. on Amigakit.eu, 6-pin DIN is less hard to find, f.ex. on Elfa or maybe kjell.com] (19-20" arcade monitor would be near as good and larger picture, if you need that. But they are never sold with a case so you'd need to slaughter a matching TV to have something to put it in.) As a medium quality alternative, pipatron[at]hotmail . com sells s-video kits for Amiga. Requires s-video input on the TV, of course. And is trickier to solder than a simple cable. If you go with TV I'd like to buy your 1084S... Last edited by Photon; 03 September 2011 at 22:11. |

Thanks!
I couldn't decide so i placed an order this: SCART cable (Amiga RGB -> SCART), stereo, 2m - 14.90€ Monitor Cable, Amiga RGB (23-pin f.) to D-SUB 9-pin m. (e.g. for Commodore 1084 or Philips 8833-II) - 8.90€ |

you could have made them yourself, like a true Amigan
it would save you some money (but, otoh, take time). |

well, you should find a friend handy with soldering iron. making a cable is trivial task.
hard part is finding the 23pin connector, but people simply modify 25pin one. |

Hm, you tricked me there Lakanmannen You said you used RCA to the TV, it's the small single round Composite signal which gives a pretty bad picture for Amigas (except on CD32 which has the composite enhancer).
(Composite for NES works because it's lower resolution and possibly better 'Luma' generation in the chip.) Got your PM, if your TV supports RGB Scart as you say, then the Amiga too will look even better than the NES on it! A bonus with your buy of two cables is you can have 2 Amigas + 1 NES plugged in to two displays all the time |
