Hollywood Poker Pro (Reline)
Hello chaps. Been offline for ages - but back again.
I didnt really contribute much last time, but enjoyed all of your comments / info on amiga stuff. Hope to be a bit more active this time around. I've got a game problem which I'm sure you chaps can help with. Its the dreaded Hollywood Poker Pro. It just will not run correctly on WinUAE on my machine. The pics are all corrupt - I know they were hires (HAM mode ?) Anyone know how to fix this or any other games that use this mode ? Probably a simple case of the right config - but I can't seem to get it to work well. Ok experts..... Enlighten me.... please ! |

Standard old rules apply here, what version WinUAE are you using? I do recall the hassles you mentioned about. But from memory after 0821r1 or something, it finally worked with the standard settings. I'd have to dig it out of my ADF's, but I could upload my own old cracked ADFised version,(can't recall which crack it was), as I'm sure that one I had actually worked compared to the corrupt GFX you mentioned, lemme know if you want it.

Thanks for the swift response matey..
That sounds right to me. I'm running .822r3 now, but there is no improvement in the pic quality. Im sure it may be my copy of it. I dont know who cracked it - i'm sure it doesnt say - It just boots as an original copy would. If its no hassle for you, I'd like to see your ADF. Its just one of those annoying things which I have to fix - or i'll go mad... Until I find the next game I can't run 100 percent.. |

Uploaded to The Zone....
Had a quick go of this last night on WinUAE 0822r1 & it played without a hitch-well, apart from getting slaughtered by the CPU. I don't know if we're talking the same crack Big-byte, but what was the cheat mode? There use to be one for this one, but haven't got a clue what it was now!
Should work fine on ECS13 settings. One thing I did remember, trashy models, but good Chris Huelsbeck music-he never seemed to write a crap tune! Last edited by 7-Zark-7; 28 November 2002 at 14:17. |

A quick search reveals that if you hold down 'H' plus 'F9' then it will transfer 100 credits from your opponents account to yours.. Repeat as necessary..

Glad to help out andreas!
Funny thing is, I'm really surprised that I was able to transdisk/ADF this in the first place. I'd played it a lot on my A500, & after it died I couldn't play it on my replacement A600HD. But the disks weren't in any great shape thanks to the aformentioned floppy drive probs I had on both the 500/600. Yet, this old version is the only one I ever got to work since in WinUAE! Not bad for 12 year old disks! |

At last !
Thanks a lot Mr Zark !
Got it working at last - the ecs13 setttings are fine. It didnt work first of all, but that was a problem with my PC - don't know what i did but WinUAE wasnt working 100% - so i reinstalled it. All is now fantastic. That Huelsbeck music takes me back a bit.... Youre right about one thing.... Those models aren't as nice as they used to be. Seen better hookers down in Cardiff docks ! Thanks again mate. Now to test that cheat (althought its pretty easy to beat anyway.) |
