Ok I give up. I cannot get past the 4GB limit on this thing. It must be the setup on the Amiga side that messes it up since larger card work for the author of the card.. But I can't figure it out.

Well finally some good news! There was a bug in the USB interface and Michael McMaster fixed it. Now it works under WinUAE as well and I can finally stop worrying about losing that large drive (for the 15th time).
We now resume our regular programme. And a big thanks to Michael McMaster for being supportive and fixing the issue. |

Is it safe to assume that if the v6 card works with an A3000 that it should also work with an A2091 card? I did not see the card listed in the tested systems.

I haven't actually tested it with my A2091, but I could put it in my A4000 and check if it works. I'll let you know as soon as I've tried it out.

Seems I don't have the ROM's needed for running the A2091 in the Amiga 4000. When I get around to it I'll test it in my Amiga 2000 instead - it's not setup currently, but I'm using the SCSI2SD v6 on my Oktagon controller in the A2000 successfully.

Thanks! I am curious also what the minimum requirements of the A2091 are. It has its own ROMs and a SCSI chip. Both are out of date on my card.

I thought I would add that on my A3000 (WD 08) I have the SCSI2SD v6, firmware 6.2.1, SFS, up and running just fine with a 32GB SD card, and a number of the partitions are greater than 4GB. So it is possible to get it to work.

Likewise I’ve managed to get my v6 working in my 3000. Still stuck on the old fw though

I've been looking at the SCSI2SD V5.1 and now V6 a bit. I have the V5.zero, connected to my CSPPC's SCSI and it's slower than my CompactFlash on Amiga SCSI. So, I'm wondering if any of you or anyone else has noticed sweet speed increases with V6 and newest firmware that are are reliable? My CompactFlash (Kingston) gets around 2.25MB/s.. The SCSI2SD V5.zero gets around 1.5MB/s..
Reading the stats at Amiga-Kit and others, it should be getting around 20MB/s with SDCard. That's how I'll be using it. That would kick butt over the CompactFlash...and finally be closer to what my CSPPC's SCSI is able to do. Anyone noticing that? Or shall I start a new thread? Appreciate any info, of course. |

I'm thinking of buying one and connecting it to the Blizzard 60/603PPC card. I have the cable that came with the card, but does it fit the SCSI2SD card version 6? Having speeds over 10 MB/s is insane compared the the slow 1.5MB/s of internal CF and IDE.

Are you considering getting it soon? Since you have Blizzard with a PPC then your specs are close enough to my A4000...you should notice those rates. So, I'm very curious if you get it before I.

Hi, my question was: does the Blizzards SCSI cable connect to the SCSI2SD v6. No use buying the card and discovering that the cables or connectors do not fit.

I am also considering a SCSI2SD v6 for my A3000. It will probably go in the second floppy bay, is there a suitable matching front for it?
Can I access it using USB if I use a mix of FFS and PFS3? I use macOS. |

You may use Mac OS or Windows to config the unit.. It doesn't do anything to any Amiga partitions...as in writing to them. Use WinUAE or an Amiga for that. |

Yes, that was a problem I had, was upgrading the firmware. It was a big pain in the rear to do for some reason. On my Win7 machine I had to reinstall the USB drivers a couple times, changed USB cables a couple times, and for whatever reason changing the USB port it was plugged into made it work.

If you don't need to change the SD card often, you could just mount the SCSI2SD inside the 3000 and run a USB cable from SCSI2SD out the back of the 3000 for when you need to access it via USB. |

Thanks, now I understand. The USB is for configuration and to access the SD image I have to remove it and mount it in an emulator.
Sounds good, I will probably configure it once and then just use it like any HD. So if I want to make backups of it, I need to remove the SD card and mount it on another computer and then use dd or something? |

To make backups you could/maybe use your Mac. I haven't tried it/don't have a Mac. I know Windows has issues with some Amiga system files like AUX that are reserved names in Windows. One can always make an LHA file of your system partition, then that is fine to backup where ever one would like. |
