people selling 3.1 roms on ebay..

these always come in pairs for some reason and they are fittable into an a600 which has one rom slot... whats the deal there then?

There are different versions for different machines, ie. 32-bit ROMs for the 1200 and 4000, and 16-bit versions for the other models. There may be more sub-categories, ie. 2000-only, 3000-only ROMs, but I'm not sure.

I've seen differing 3.1 roms on Ebay for a4000, a1200 etc. I only have a 3.0 with my Miggy so would it be worth the cost to upgrade to 3.1 and get WB3.5 or 3.9. I mainly use my miggy for word processing and gaming.

Also noticed a little utility on Aminet called BlizzMagic which you can apparantly use to load a 3.1 rom using a Blizzard card on a 3.0 machine. Anyone used this??

My belief is that they come in pairs, because the rom is on two chips. (i have gathered this piece of information from observation of innards of my lovely A1200 :_ )
