Warning regarding APC-TCP

Just a heads up for anyone else running into this guy:

http://www.exotica.org.uk/forum/view...hp?p=4356#4356

If anyone else has any kind of agreement with him regarding hosting files or anything you might want to read this.
(I realise the person involved does use this forum sometimes, but I believe this information should be public)

Well that made interesting reading.

Obviously I've had similar experience in the past but cheers for the link.

Yeah? MM was my fav magazine back in the bad old days. Best place to find new people to swap disks with, buy and sell Amiga bits n bobs etc.

I'd be interested to know what music he is claiming he owns.

@Plasmatron

lol, don't hold anything back... tell them how you really feel.

I try to have empathy in this matter, but I have to admit, he does have a way of rubbing people the wrong way.

This is not the common EAB style...

Yeh. I'm sure Volker would have kept his artistic copyright on the works themselves.

Jester is still doing music as far as i am aware, should be easy enough to track down.

Webhosters are too bloody quick to delete things or threaten customers when some idiot complains.

I fail to see how Jesters work could be this guys copyright.

Personally speaking, i'd be inclined to go right ahead and remove any references to APC-TCP until they provide solid proof.

Fyi: publishing rights are normally for one time usage only and for limited time, not "forever". Unless it got re-contracted and the authors still recieve their payments - which I honestly doubt.

Music for games has almost always been as a work for hire. That means that the composer retains no rights whatsoever.

every company make other contracts. our publishing contracts run unlimited and must cancel from one contract-member.

but for this 3 games... we have first publish the games and later we have buy all rights from the games complete.
