Red face stupid question

This question might be stupid, but as i just got an awesome collection of cracktos ( nearly 500 of them from 1988 - 1996 ) I asked myself, if 1996 the year was, the cracking scene died on the amiga.
The latest dated cracks I have are from 1996 and some groups like Delirium or Prodigy announced to stop to crack for the amiga.

Is 1996 the year of the last released amiga titles ??
The end of the illegal scene??

perhaps somebody can anwser thX!!!!

I own a collection of cd from around 1997-1998, with a lot of cracked software and other stuff from "the not so legal side"

Still 2 day u can get cracked software, I found Amiga OS 3.9 last week.

So the scene can't be all dead.

That wouldn't be a crack in the technical sense of the term, would it? Or - aargh - does OS 3.9 have the "feature" called Product Activation as well?

Fairlight released their final crack on Amiga in 1997, Hellfire and a couple of other groups continued for about 8 months before retiring, so whilst the bulk of the last games were released in 1996, we released the last big title (Championship Manager 2) in 1997.

Delirium lost totally motivation to continue. Phil Douglas, Wildcard and others were over ten years addicted to the scene and their were no youg guns to recruit and only a small hand of cracks left.

Btw, Galahad ...what was the connection between Prestige AMIGA and Prestige PC ?
There were totally different members.
What happend to MOK, Siriax or Lincoln???

to much friends lost 4ever!!!

EAB has one "MOK" registered here, maybe it's actually the one you're looking for
(You can read "Old scene legend" in his profile. so.... )

It all depends on what you consider the last big title to be. CM 2 was the last big disk title, but I'm sure many would consider more recent Amiga games like Quake, Myst, Wipeout 2097, Heretic II, Nightlong, Foundation, Payback, and Shogo to be bigger titles. Admittedly, these games were all CD releases requiring minimal cracking ability compared to the disk-based games of old that you frequently wrestled with.

For those interested, of the old cracking crews, TRSI seem to be the only active one on Amiga today. I'm not sure if they've released any Amiga games this year (haven't been many published this year period!), but they probably released a half dozen games last year.
