Extase is a 100% rip off of a sub game in Purple Saturn Day, its actually quite a good little game, not too difficult, but yes, Gravity is arse.... but Angus thinks its really rather good!

Captain Blood seemed completely unplayable, even with the manual.

I must be alone here because I know people that like it, but Deuteros seems completely unplayable to me.

HOL Database (id=340)

I guess probably with most of the games here, it would come clear by reading the instructions.

I think that no IMPRESSIONS strategic game was playable without a manual.

I used to play Cap'n Blood quite a lot. Not that I got very far though, but it made enough sense to be fun.

hehe.

Just wanted to note what could be a confusing game for some might not be for others.

Often had this problem in the old days - and strangely the most confusing games were the ones with cracks on the front & no manuals.....

Infestation
http://hol.abime.net/?id=2637
I got the monsterpack with sotb 1, nitro and Infestation.
Either there's some sort of missprint in the manual.. or am I just supposed to guess what the **** I'm supposed to type at the terminal? That is when you finally figure out where the terminal was and what all the F keys do before the little pissants eat you alive.
yea gravity was wierd. The two page CU amiga hype wasn't much help either.. no wonder it was a cover disk.

Xiphos
http://hol.abime.net/?id=1608
(Elite wannabe) had some strange traiding thing going on as well.. (reminds me of the infestation terminal). Manual was a 1 page insert if I remember correctly.. wonder if this baby has been caps:ed

There was this one game, i will be glad if someone can remember it's name, which i got with a cheapo games pack that came with my A500. i can't remember it in great detail, except that it came with several sort of star-charty things, which might have been printed on plastic acetate. i don't think i even managed to relate them to anything that happened in the game. i think the game vaguely involved piloting a space ship around the galaxy, there was one sub game i remember where you were flying into the screen, along a planets surface, with a load of wire-frame (?) mountains and canyons rushing towards you. it seemed pretty crap so i never persevered much with it, but whenever i did try and have a go it completely baffled me.

Another game i never got was the bullfrog game Fusion. I just couldn't figure out what I was meant to be doing.
