Was this a commercial release?

I played this a bit yesterday and there is a copy protection in level 2. To continue play you need to check the manual

Anyone know where to find the manual? Or maybe someone can crack this?

Musashi 9 just put his crack into the zone which has a level skip as you can see.

I was playing through this last night, what a cool game. It's very well done technically. I imagine many people have never seen past the second level because of the copy protection. There is a really nice Sonic style loop in one of the later levels that looks great with the fast parallax, puts Zool to shame. I made a video of that part to show it off here [ Show youtube player ]

I haven't finished the game yet but check out some of these other notable parts in this longplay at 11:21 and 13:13 [ Show youtube player ]

This was a top of the line game, the only complaint is the controls, since it's so fast the jumps can be finicky. From the authors comments on Youtube it sounds like it was done by him and his friends in only 6 weeks over school holiday. It was 1994 so they couldn't find a publisher. They are also the guys behind Blork which was unreleased and looked really good [ Show youtube player ]

What a talented bunch, such a shame they didn't get more recognition, Dr Cube's isn't even on Lemon. They really knew how to push OCS/ECS.
