Low Latency Vsync Black Screen
Morning all,
I'm trying to setup Low Latency VSync for smooth scrolling at 50hz but am hitting an issue. As soon as I start the emulation the Winuae displays black screen with looping sound and shows 99FPS. Pressing F12 brings up the menu and lets Winuae draw the screen correctly for a frame. Changing to legacy vsync seems to work ok. I found an old post from June which was showing a similar issue, logs displaying warnings about unstable vsync this was resolved by updating to the latest nvidia drivers. Have tried this but still hitting the same issue, any thoughts?. Cheers OS = Win10 1073 Nvidia Drivers = 388.59 Logs and config attached. Last edited by Locash; 09 December 2017 at 11:24. |

Log shows the nvidia or windows issue (I am not really sure if it is Windows or drivers or both or neither..) that reports 10000Hz+ refresh rates.

Just a question...
What if a user has a G-Sync system? Should still enable also "Low Latency VS, 50/60Hz" and gain faster joystick input for example? Last edited by hexaae; 09 December 2017 at 20:11. |

I had the same issue on my Win 10 NVidia setup last september with (then) most recent NVidia driver. For me the solution was to revert to an older NVidia driver from March 2017. So you would think it's the NVidia driver. Then after some recent Windows update (maybe Fall Creators update) it seems a new(er) NVidia driver was installed again (my current version is dated October 27th 2017) and interestingly the low latency issue with D3D9 is no longer there for me, it works without issues now. So I guess you could try:

Thanks for taking a look Toni and Dr.Venom, it is such a weird issue.
I have tried rolling back the driver through the months but no joy, will change Windows patch target tonight and give the 1709 creators update a go and report back. Cheers |
