Is a GVP 52 MB HD useful?
I don't know if this really is a problem, but I have nothing to sell either (at least not yet). I have an old GVP (great valley products?) 52 MB harddisk for A500. Is that something that someone could find useful? To put it another way, shuld i go through the bother of finding someone who wants it, our should i just throw it away? To give it to someone who doesn't live where i do, I have to ask for the postage, and I can't even guarantee that it works, seeing that its just been in a box for 10 years.

Throwing things away is always the easy way. But I find it more to my own amusement to give things away in that case. I usually put things up for a bottle of red whine in exchange. I have never had to throw amiga stuff away. It was always picked up. Even the 700 disks I put up last time. So give it a shot. Keep it while put it up for grabs. It doesn't eat bread, so it won't hurt you.

The GVP is excelent for an A500. If you still have an A500, I would upgrade the ram and replace the harddrive with a bigger one, and then use it for gaming. If you only have the GVP harddrive, then I'm sure someone would pick it up for the postage; I know I would.

If it's just the HARD DRIVE, and no SCSI controller then it is pretty much worthless.
If it is the whole thing including the SCSI controller (strange wedge shaped thing with a PSU) then it is worth about 50 euro's. The PSU alone which is pin compatible with the CD32 is worth perhaps as much as 20 euro's. The GVP Impact series II HD8+ is the "second best" hard drive controller for the A500. |

That's the entire thing, SCSI controller and hard drive. Worth as I said above perhaps 50 Euro's.
