Capacitor list for A2000

HI

Has anyone got a list of all the capacitors needed to replace the old ones on both Rev 6.2 and 6.3 boards ? Have searched the Internet but no list of the A2000 is coming up

Cheers

I don't have a list for you however I don't think you need to worry about the caps on A500/A1000/A1500/A2000/A3000 unless you have a specific problem.

It's the surface mounted caps on the A600/A1200/A4000 and particularly the CD32 which has some reversed capacitors along with the A3640 CPU board that are the main sources of problems.

Take note for battery leakage though on any Amiga or Memory upgrade which has a NiCd battery.

The thing is that the motherboard is unstable. It works for a while and then it just dies. I can power it up again and the same thing will happen so I thought maybe it could be some bad capacitors

yah, could be a bad PSU or also a cold solder joint, i had a monitor that would work for a while and once it heated up and the board flexed the display would die

I already tried with another PSU as well , bought one from E-bay thinking the same thing. It could be that both of them are not working properly though. I also thought that it could be some menory problem as there is two particular demos where the machine goes black at the exact same place in the demos

I recapped my A2000 some time back.

More likely problems in A2000 are;

Pull CPU and look for corrosion in socket, if corroded replace with two rows of machined pins.

Resolder all major chip sockets.

Pull Agnus and check for leakage damage, replace socket if required.

It's mostly just corrosion with A2000.
