Questionable Amiga 1000 Modifications.
Upon further investigation, I think this is the results of the A1000 1MB Piggback Hack. I'm going to see to either re-finishing, or undoing this hack and moving forward. Any advice and knowledge is welcome. Original post follows.
I've recently acquired a non-functional A1000. The optimist in me suspected it could be resurrected, but looking at the thing there are a few oddities..... On the mainboard:
On the daughter board:
It would be simple enough to put in some CIA's and test thing, but given all the other oddities I see here, and the fact I've never owned an A1000 prior to this, I thought it best to ask the experts before doing anything further. My gut says that this all part of some sort of homebrew ram expansion that has been subsequently removed. Last edited by fordp; 30 August 2014 at 05:45. |

I had an A1000 that had the remnants of a very shoddy piggy back mod in it.. Really the best option is to revert it and then start debugging the machine.
