Beneath a Steel Sky hanging

I've been playing Beneath a Steel Sky 2.0 (the ECS version, not CD32) and have noticed that it hangs quite often. Not a complete freeze, I can still move the mouse and sometimes hover over items, but any background animations stop and the character won't move. The F5/F6 keys don't do anything, I have to press PrtScrn to quit. This has happened four or five times so far while playing through it in various locations.

There are bugs mentioned in the WHDLoad installer notes, is this one of them? any idea if it is a bug original to the game, or something to do with the install?

I don't recall any crashes in the original game when i played it on the Amiga from floppies a good while back.

I haven't tried the whdload version so can't comment on your experiences.

You can get it free for the pc if you still have problems.

Try the CD32 version It has voices, and if you copy it as a iso you can run it from the CD32 Install kit and it works fine..If you need help setting it up just ask..

Thanks, I actually completed the ECS version in the end but had to keep saving regularly as the glitch happened throughout the game. There were also some graphic glitches later on so maybe I have a bad version.

I am one of those weird people that actually prefer the text versions to talkie versions! I also don't like the way you can't save and have to use codes in the CD32 version.
