thanks for the heads-up Bobic! and here comes too the same thing i think each time i watch the works done for these demo contest: why oh why are they ALWAYS so much more gool than any contemporary bloated heavy million dollar costing game' enviroment? i know they are different things, but it would be so cool if this kind of workmanship would flow into games...

@Marco: Cheers mate! Btw - so many scene people are working in the games industry. We featured an article last month where we picked 10 famous companies (Starbreeze, Lionhead or Digital Illusions for example) where famous sceners are working and where we mentioned the games they have worked on. Again this article is in german language only, but you should be able to understand the list of scene people and their games :-)
The article about "Sceners in the games industry" can be found here: http://www.4players.de/4sceners.php?...BERICHTID=5066 Oh, I forgot! Download Issue 58 of the famous PC-diskmag PAIN (http://pain.scene.org). The Pain staff translated the Sceners in the games industry article into English! This diskmag was made for running in Windows. Go and grab your copy now :-) |

thanks for the great link, i'm downloading right now
you are right, i'm not really informed to tell the industry is lame, but i feel that this cool bunch of smart visual graphic not often get to the games consumers, in part because of the way the hardware works, in part because the taste consumers have developed and for many other reasons i guess, and it's kind of a pity. why have lots of product all alike when you can have this rich difference instead? |

Lots of finnish/partially finnish teams in the top lists.
We still rule the demoscene. ;-) |
