Hardware change caused problems
I formerly used a monitor which supported 1280x1024 resolution & ran 2 H/D folders, Sys & Work, with no problems.
Recently my system went to a hot place in a hand basket & my new rig uses a 1366x768 resolution. New board fitted too but none of the hardware hanging off it has changed including the CPU & GPU. Despite all attempts to select a more friendly resolution, ie 1024x768 I get the following error message when booting off Sys: Task:0x0001DD98 - Devs:Monitors/PAL Error:0x00000003 - Illlegal Address Access PC: 0x000000D When booting off a floppy image things seem to work so I assume a new H/D installation will probably be Ok so this will probably not be a deal breaker but I'd be fascinated to know what the cause actually is. |

I assume you mean RTG resolution? Does it boot if you disable RTG? (Set Expansion panel RTG RAM = 0)

Hi Toni, thanks for the quick response but no we are talking native mode here and no RTG support has been added.
This has got me going sideways too since all settings on Sys: are unchanged and booting from games adf files works as normal. The next step as I see it will probably be to create a new Sys: file, probably dh0: and re install Workbench. I am just hoping that my loaded Work: file is unaffected. |

Only remaining probable reason is corrupted file(s) (while transferring?). Not necessarily devs:monitors/pal.

Solved: Actual cause was incorrect setting in new config file, (Inadequate RAM + other error).
Sorry to have bothered you, Tony Cook |
