Game not running on 1.3 kickstart

I've been coding a simple game using BLitz Basic... I actually finished the game near a couple of months ago, but I messed up the source code and wasted some time cleaning it.

Anyway, now I am testing it on different setups using Winuae, and the game crashes on 1.3 .

Does BLitz Basic 2 has some specific configuration when building an executable to make it work on 1.3 ?

I need to use an assign ENV: RAM: on the STartup-Sequence or else I get an error on 2.x or up (I can just cancel and the game boots anyway) , but on 1.3 this assign fails, so I just remove it... and I think this may have something to do with it.

Maybe your c:assign is not compatible with 1.3? Try one from a wb 1.3 disk.

Akira gave me this suggestion,but I am using the one from Wb 1.3 disk now and am getting this error anyway.
I also assign the fonts folder , and this one works.

Does it fail if you boot from a real Workbench 1.3 disk?

Oh one more thing, is this disk INSTALL'd with 2.0? You might have to do it with 1.3 instead.

Before I try to clean up finished code, I ALWAYS do so on a separate copy. The risk of accidentally removing something that needs to stay is too great.


Good luck solving your problems, it would be great to see another new Amiga game

It's a very simple game , don't get too excited about it

I did try install using the 1.3 version. I didn't try booting from WB1.3 and then loading the game, I'll try this out.

You should run SnoopDOS before the game to see what it is accessing.
If you send me the latest version I can do this for you.

Yes, SnoopDOS can be a great way to find out what library's and other files programs are accessing. I use it all the time when I can't work out why something isn't working correctly.
