What the...? Renegade 3?

I see with my astonished eyes Renegade 3 in HOL!
I ever thought this game was never officialy published!
I tried to find it on the web, without luck.
So, could someone please post it on The Zone (or give me the link where I can download it), I'm really curious to see it...
Thanks!

You'll note that the game is almost as bad as the first Renegade game. They managed to use prettier backgrounds with the same poor execution.

WHAT???
This game is almost one of the worst thing I ever see in my life!
Renegade (1) is MUCH better to this piece of s*** (censoring myself) :disgusted

Really I can't believe this game is from Imagine. Where is the logo? The music? The code? (ehm...)

Moreover, it seems a demo preview of a PD game, a fan game of the original C64 counterpart, but not really an official conversion!

You must kill me to let me believe I'm wrong! :kill

No, really, man. It's too awful to be true...

I can barely remember the first Renegade game. I bought it back in the day and have never been so repulsed by a software purchase.

As for the authenticity of that title, I cannot vouch for that. But if you've seen the C64 version, or the Spectrum version. you'll note that the levels are consistent with their 8-bit counterparts (only the 8-bit versions got rave reviews). Even the theme levels (Stone Age, Ancient Egypt, etc.) are consistent with the other platforms, so I lean in the direction that this is the real thing, although it does seem there's more to the story since I have never seen an original, nor seen it reviewed, plus Imagine's logo is indeed missing. Perhaps a stolen beta?

It doesn't matter if the levels are similar to the counterparts of 8-bit cousins. Many PD games got the same "original feel" even if not official releases (I don't remember well, but think of the Mario or Galaga clones, Exploding Fist, Thunderboy (Wonderboy), a clone of Smash TV, 1942 "Seuck"... There is even a Polish conversion of Street Hassle!)
I'm not saying you are wrong, but "something" tells me this is not an official conversion. Who are the programmers? Never heard before...

Sorry this news is 14 years late, but I finally solved the mystery. This is the official version commissioned by Ocean, and the people credited in-game aren't PD devs. You can find the full details in my article here. If you don't want to read it all search for 'Adam'.

They made a terrible port of renegade - arguably the worst port of all systems- then skipped an amiga port of Target Renegade which was a great game, then pick up this utter trash called Renegade III to port it ? No wonder it got canned!

Hmmm, the file "Renegade III (19xx)(A. Mastromarino).adf" uploaded to The Zone! is actually "Renegade III (1990)(Xcess).zip" when run through TOSEC DATs: Renegade III (Xcess)

Edit: you might as well use the trained version though, Renegade III (1990)(Xcess)[t Xcess].zip

I had bought this original on CPC disk, because I played Target;Renegade to death. It was a disappointment but I liked the music. Back then there was no internet to check a game, just read some positive reviews and bought it.
I will download this and check it too. Well too bad they didn't port Target; Renegade which was a superior game.

Nothing was officially released as a demo/preview. The version that's available somehow escaped/was leaked, or whatever. I'm hoping to get to the bottom of what happened exactly now the artist has come forward and offered to fill in the blanks. It is an Amiga ADF though.

I hope I answered the question you asked.
