Got this bad boy today:



Installing homebrew capabilities isn't as easy as for the Wii or other systems, but it's done now and working fine.
Now I need to try figure Retroarch out. There is a P-UAE core in it that I want to try but I cannot even get it to start (stuck in a config window!).

Everything else seems to be working great, but I'm a bit underwhelmed by the homebrew selection. Seems like the classic Wii scene was a lot more active

Well, you know that nowadays the words/terms are changing. For example you were using a computer and now you can be using the cloud while you are in your mobile instead...

About buying something, terms can also mean different things nowadays.

Aww, a much underappreciated machine IMHO, I still love my Wii U! But, at least around here, poor marketing made a lot of people think it was simply an add-on for the Wii, and it never really gained a large userbase. That probably explains the much smaller homebrew scene than the Wii - an order of magnitude more sales of the former system.

To be honest is Nintendo itself who dropped the ball with the Wii U, was quite the failure world wide and it was killed very early.
The commercial titles selection leaves a lot to be desired. Yes, as usual, the Nintendo-made games are amazing and probably worth having the console alone for them, but come on, they said they wouldn't kill it when Switch comes out, and the whole Miiverse platform, which is crucial in many games already has been killed last year. Makes the machine a bit useless/less fun. In comparison, the Wii online services lived on for at least 5 years past its "death"!

In all the homebrew scene probably just moved on to more interesting scenes, why develop for a dead console with a small userbase? I'm still glad I got it because gems like Mario Kart 8 are not to be missed.

I guess my C128 is still not supported by the Easyflash 3.

I could buy it for my C64C but I don't like the 8580 as much as the 6581.

C64C is just a case style... Many C64C machines were actually shipped with the long board featuring the 6581 SID.

Why don't you install a dual sid board in it?. That's what I like.

BTW I had the wrong idea that the 128 had the 8580. I still have to open the parcel where I've got my C128.

I own some of the "best" recomended joystics.

I know that the Quickshot Maverick 1 has/adds a nice feature so you can use one joystick for example with your C64 and connect it to both joysticks ports and then you can select which one you want to use. It also looks to me like it's the largest joystick I've had and it could feel just like if you were playing in a vintage arcade machine.

It adds some features never seen, like the chance to change among different systems:
A) ATARI / COMMODORE
B) MSX
C) AMSTRAD
D) SEGA

I would like to know how good this joystick is compared to a TAC-2 or other nice joysticks out there. I would also like to know if any modification is recomended as I've seen some posts about using micro switches in some known good joysticks.

Please remember that I've just bought it, I don't have it yet. I just saw it, NOS (box not so new) and the price was cheap (16€). I had seen it in the past and I liked it (I'm almost sure it was our friend fitzsteve using it years ago). I wonder now for example how it compares to the Arcade Evolution Amiga Joystick by Amigakit.
