Hi!

I´m very busy at the moment.

Thank you very much in advance.

I can't open the images under Linux. If you convert them, maybe you'll get broader attention?

Btw, the image names remind me of the 'Realms of Arkania' series.

The IFF files should be altered with DPaint and the included font.
An (emulated) Amiga is all you need.

Yeah, the image names are odds and ends from the original Backbone project called "DSA Arcade":

To allow Irfanview to be used, can anyone suggest an equivalent TrueType font for Windows?

@prowler: Lucida Casual maybe?

I made some translations. Maybe one half of the text. Please check them.
Quote:
Ende1
You did it! The wicked alchemist has been defeated.

You continue your way to Newlake with a relieved feeling that you could free the land from that fiend.

The hope of eventually meeting your friends again travels with you...

Ende2
The End.

Game over
You fought valiantly to your last breath.
Unfortunately your adventure ends here.
You are dead.

GreifenStory1
You left the arduous way behind you, that the map has led you.

Now you see the walls of the alchemist's tower at the horizon and a bastion, that defends him from intruders.

GreifenStory2
A shape suddenly appears in the sky.

It comes directly your way.

Then you recognise it as a bird man.
“I am the keeper of this tower and I will crush you!”

Another fight begins...

Menu1
There you are, on a dusty road in the middle of the Haimon desert and your enemies are right at your heels.

It has been two days since you escaped from the captivity of the orcs and their allies.

Your destination is the city of Spannenberg.

Menu2
You will be safe there and catch your breath.

It is still a long way to Newlake, but soon you will be reunited with your friends.

… and then the orc's barbaric slavery will be put to an end!

Menu3
You have left the Haimon desert behind you. The land is steadily becoming more fertile, and you are not only looking forward to a warm bed, but also to the plenty of fruit that Spannenberg is famous for.

Wow, thanks a lot so far, gilgamesh!!

Well, it was stupid to include "Ende2", wasn´t it?!

It comes directly your way.

The rest is brilliant.

Here comes the rest.
Quote:
Menu4
You walk along a narrow path rapt in thought, when strange sounds reach your ears.

You advance to the city and begin to see the first roof tops, as you suddenly start to perceive the smell of reek!.

Menu5

And the you see it:

Spannenberg is being raided!

You bravley collect all your remaining strength and rush to aid the locals...

Taverne

Inn of Spannenberg
What do you want to do?
Have a drink...
Listen to the patrons...
Journey on...

Taverne1

A person suddenly grips your shoulder.

“Not so fast, valiant stranger. We, the residents of Spannenberg, beg for your help once more.
An evil alchemist is up for mischief in these lands, as you may have already heard.”

Taverne2
He kidnaps travelers and turns them into submissive monsters.

It is roumored that he is in league with the orcs!

Alas, nobody from here dares to go to his tower.

Therefore we implore you...

Taverne3
Help us and free this land!

A traveler who could flee gave us a map.
It will show you the way to the tower.

Cross the ruins of the tyrant Tarbos' stronghold.

May the gods be with you...

TaverneGast

You listen closely to what the patrons tell:

“..this attack wast just the beginning, and if nobody does something about the alchemist, then his fiendish creatures will roam the land.”

TaverneMet

Ahhh. You were in dire need of that.

The full-flavored taste of the mead rejoices the heart and gives you new strength.

TurmStory1

You finally reached the destination of your adventure.

But the looks of the heavy wooden door make you fear that the hardest battle is still to come.

TurmStory2
You resolutely open the portal to of the alchemist's tower and find yourself in a dusky hall.

After hardly one step on the massive stone floor an unearthly strong wind stream sucks you further and further into the tower's innards...

I found these typos:

And then you see it:

He kidnaps travellers and turns them into submissive monsters.

You resolutely open the portal __ of the alchemist's tower and find yourself in a dusky hall. (to?)

Again, thank you very, very much for your fabulous translation.
I will alter the piccies by myself.

That's because they are both OK. "Traveller" is the British-English spelling and "traveler" is the American-English spelling. Both are readily understood on both sides of the Atlantic.

Edit1: "Full-flavored" is another American-English spelling. The British-English equivalent is "full-flavoured".

Edit2:

Je suis ravi.

Oh yes, you are right but I think I prefer British English.
