Kickstart rom patching question - disable DF0

I've been reading into some of the kickstart rom patches to make a new 3.9 rom with fixes etc. So I'm wondering is there a way to create a rom for the A600 which will have DF0: and possibly CC0: disabled by default with the option to enable them via the boot menu?

Reason I ask is that I have two A600's for my DJ setup, both with their floppy drives removed. Boot time isn't too bad but its actually the RAM usage which causes me a problem sometime. If there are any other Ram savings via rom patches or speed increases over IDE to be had, I'd love to know.

It's not hard to remove the disk detection part of the ROM. But since df0: is supposed to be available, I'm not sure if the rest of the OS and all applications will still run OK:
