I may wait for the emulator to mature a bit more before I buy. I have a gp2x and although UAE4ALL is great for speed, sound and compatibility it is missing many features which make life easier.

Yeah I was thinking the same. Plus the Pandora is a completely new product, there will be at least the odd issue. Get them sorted then I might be on for one.

The Asus Eee PC may cost just a little bit more but it's about twice the size of the Pandora. The Pandora is a pocket computer.

And the pandora has dual analogue joysticks and a dir pad. I actually bought a 7" eeepc for 299AU new so that's less than 150UKP.

Don't compare the asus eeepc with the pandora, they are completel different things. The asus is a umpc and the pandora, while it can do a bit of computing with the appropiate software, is a game console, so it will never compete with a computer in that aspect.
Is interesting the device, but it lacks a touchscreen.

Is it just me, but where was the sound?

It is running fullspeed, but is that with no sound?

Pandora has touch screen.

None of the pandora emu demos have had sound yet, not sure that they have a completely working unit yet. But it is capable of full speed with sound as the gp2x gets pretty damn close and that is a much slower unit with very similar architecture and using the same code base.

Interested, although not at the price Sure it can do a hell of a lot more than just emulate but will the apps become available? Hope so!

It will run Linux. Hence a lot of Linux apps. It will have native games, native apps, it has bluetooth, wifi, touchscreen. The potential is huge IMO. Lots of GP32 apps and games will be ported. I'll take a wild guess here but I would say there WILL be lots of apps and games available. Dev boards have been out for over 2 months I think.

Awesome! But I'll wait for the 2nd batch of Pandoras because I want some feedback about the quality of its dpad and digital buttons (don't care much about the analog sticks or PSX emulation since my PSP can emulate PS1-games perfectly).

@FOL: Please port "PSPUAE" to Pandora - cause with your features (manual zoom, auto-zoom, screen-positioning, virtual keyboard, customizable controls, savestates) we'd have the perfect portable Amiga (500)!

No need for virtual keyboard as the Pandora has a keyboard.
