Winuea runs too fast

Hi!

I have a big problem with winuae. I only use it for playing swos 96/97 (on and off) and since i got my new PC (winXP, geforce 6600, 3500+ AMD 64, 1 GB Ram) Winuae runs way too fast. Sometimes at 100 FPS. this makes the game unplayable, of course.

And this is the reason of desynchros while playing online (it desynchs 95% of all games, i try to play online with kaillera)!

Can somebody help me?

1st off .. WinUAEXP ? .. Only ref i found to it is to $ane announcing its birth in 2002 .. Does this mean your using a 3+ year out of date version or has it been kept up to date with the official WinUAE ?

2nd i just tested out this game for you on my new PC (WinXP, GF6800, DC 4400+ AMD 64, 2gb ram) and the title screens and loading upto when i get asked to insert D1 while its loading from D1 work fine .. 101% cpu 49.7 fps solid .. I used the ADF's 'Sensible World of Soccer 96-97 (1996)(Renegade)[cr HF](Disk n of 2).adf' and the Quickstart A1200 option in WinUAE. (The Quickstart A500 option starts loading the game but then guru's with a error in the slowram area).

Could you provide some more info on your WinUAE, config, and which ADF's your using?

Hello! I'm Redhair from SensibleSoccer.de - This version is a package based on the kaillera games pack from http://www.amigaclassics.de/kaillera/ger_index.htm - The reason why we use this old version is, that we can play online. Kaillera client is not implemented in newer winUAE versions. You can download the SWOS package here: http://swos.ring23.com/stat/cgi-bin/...migaonline.exe - Complete incl. the SWOS Hardfile and Config file. It works fine at me and I don't know why it has 100 FPS at Playaveli's PC...

Even the standard WinUAE we all use can run games too fast, mostly the very old ones like rolling ronny, baby joe etc... but it's all based on the settings. it will run perfect if the settings is right.

using the newest winuae version everything works fine and runs smoothly with 50.0 FPS!
with this swos kaillera package (winuaexp, sometimes only 30 FPS, sometimes way too fast at 70 FPS) it just won't work...

Can't somebody help me please? winXP, geforce 6600, 3500+ AMD 64, 1 GB Ram

If you will post the details of the configuration that you have setup in the GUI when you run the game, then someone here might be able to suggest what changes you would need to make to get it to run properly. Without that, there isn't a lot anybody is going to be able to do to help, and knowing the details of your actual hardware really doesn't tell us much. The settings are probably the cause of more than 95% of the problems that most people have getting various games to work.

Lightbulb A simple answer

Thats the GRAPHIC USER INTERFACE {GUI} it's that checkbox thing you select your options in BEFORE running each game , if you SAVE the ticked /blanked options it creates your configeration file {config}

So that when you run it again it selects the SAME OPTIONS

Sometimes a lot of an answer in lost in translation

I hope the above clears up the matter Playavelli

From what I could see.....you use an AGA ROM-image and emulate ECS......I've changed the chipset-settings to AGA, upped the ChipRAM to 2MB (as per any A1200) and z3Fast to 4MB.

Other than this, I didn't see any immediate errors.

edit: I also turned on V-Sync.

I've not been able to test this, though, as whatever I've done, I've been unable to get both SWOS AND Kaillera to work. But I hope what little I did should be enough. just remove .txt from the attached file and you should be okay to laoad it into WinUAE
