Can't get CDTV to work
This is the first time I bother with CDTV emulation and I have absolutely no idea what could be causing the problem, just can't get past the logo. Any suggestions? using the latest beta here. Use Quickstart. Do not use ASPI. Especially DO NOT put anything to harddrives panel. Do not enable uaescsi. Do not read bad guides.
(and do not talk about betas in non-beta thread, ALWAYS test with official version first. This is last warning) |

Already using it.
Got it, but exactly the same happens with SPTI. Got it. I didn't. Which reminds me, that's where I got this brilliant idea of adding the CD's directory to the hard drives panel Quote:

(WinUAE will use these settings instead of the ones in the reg for this version in the future). |

@TheCyberDruid: most useful tip ever, thanks a bunch
@Ian: probably the second thing I did, but IIRC you didn't have to with the real CDTV. Ok, same problem confirmed for 1.6.1. It just keeps rebooting. All I can be certain of at this point is that at least it must be detecting the CD because I'm not being prompted to the setup screen when it's in the drive. Update: nevermind, this version is for the CD32, but I think I read something about a CDTV version. Last edited by Maren; 02 March 2010 at 14:55. |

There is no "Dark Seed" for CDTV.
It was released on floppy disk for A500 or CD for CD32 |

Maybe use an official CDTV game for the tests?

Well, I could only find the spanish version, and it works ok with 1.6.1 and 1.6.2.

Interestingly enough, if you put the CD32 version of Dark Seed in a PC, it reads it as "CDTV Test." Very likely another abandoned CDTV project moved to the CD32.

I tried to mount via Daemon Tools the image that is available in TOSEC: Darkseed v1.1 (1994)(Cyberdreams)[!][CDD4925] and run through Winuae (going through Workbench to launch the game) On an A1200 configuration, the game starts and seems playable (I didn't have joypad configuration at hand so I could not move the cursor, but I guess if I had done so it would have played fine?) On an A500 configuration but with 2Mb chip RAM, it reboots (no guru message). On a CDTV quickstart, it seems to do something (you don't get sent to CDTV configuration screen), but seem stuck there (exactly as stated in the first post). Note to TOSEC people (although I don't think Mai or Crashdisk are in charge of the CD section?): It seems like when the files were renamed, the cue file was not edited accordingly and therefore it gives an error about locating the iso file when you try to mount it. |

Another CD32 release that comes up as "CDTV Test" is Psygnosis's "Flink" ...
