Speris Legacy CD32 (Is it worth completing?)

I've always been a fan of action RPGs (aka Zelda-alikes) and I've revisited most of the Zelda games through emulation including the new Minish Cap. I never played my way through Speris Legacy, but I've always thought about it. One of the best Action-RPG's on the Amiga by sure... but are the puzzles fun, frustrating, easy? Is the story / plot good?

I liked it a lot though I was stuck later in the game, couldn't figure out what to do and stopped playing. Very good however.

Its ridiculously tough, some of the puzzles are a little obscure.

Lots of what appears to be aimless wandering around as well.

Sorry about that!

I've started playing it.... I think its quite good. It is a shame that not more of this Genre ever made it to the Amiga. The action RPG is one of my fav genres.

Looking back retro actively, I am also suprised that no "Resident Evil" type games ever made it to the CDTV / CD32. PreRendered AGA backgrounds with some solid 3D characters or something. I know we had a few Point n click pre-rendered games but... I guess no-one ever considered it until the 3DO et al.

I like to think of Elvira and Waxworks as survival horror on the amiga, although the mechanics are completely different.

I think in general there aren't that many Action RPGs for any platform. (unless of course you count games with a diablo like interface in which you see how fast you can click an enemy till it's dead).

Only proper sort of action RPG I played on the PC would be revenant.

What are you talking about? The SNES and Sega Saturn are prime examples of Action RPG heaven

GBA has lots of those but not all are of high quality. I particularly hate having to press the button hundreds of times to skip obligatory dialogues especially in the beginning and most GBA games seem to have those but there are also VERY good ones like Mario&Luigi RPG and Zelda: The Minish Cap.

There isn't a PC version, you have to emulate the amiga one. Everything is explained in the faq:

I have been acussed of being a Team17 Fanboy, so what I'm about to say may shock you - Speris Legacy was, without a doubt, one of the worst titles ever released by Team17 bar Overdrive and Kingpin.
