Problems with Orinoco Gold Wifi + MiamiDx
Hi all.
I got this Orinoco Gold PCMCIA WiFi card (Agere brand). It's supposedly working and is successfully detected by Prism2v2 WirelessManager, as the card's lights come up and blink whenever my A1200 finishes the boot. However, things get bitter when I try to make MiamiDx bring the network online. It simply won't. The computer won't get an IP through DHCP, and "forcing" the address manually won't work either. Any ideas or experiences to share? Configuration: A1200 + Blizzard '030, 32MB total RAM EDIT: additional information and what I've done so far: - MiamiDx successfully detects the PCMCIA card's MAC address. - Disabled encryption, set SSID="xyz" key_mgmt=NONE. No luck. - Set encryption to WEP/ASCII and WEP/Hex, driver settings accordingly. - Tried AmiTCP instead of MiamiDx. The card's lights only sit there, one always on, other intermittently blinking, nothing else happens. Last edited by pkersey; 30 August 2013 at 05:50. |

If that doesn't work, disable WirelessManager from starting at boot, and run it in a shell to see what's happening.

Haven't been able to get to my Amigas lately as I have been working up to late. The WirelessManager is already absent from startup-seq. Some good fellow suggested me to have a look at what WM is doing by using SnoopDOs, which's a tool I'm npt using at least for a decade but I'll recall. Nothing is shown in the she window when I execute the WM. The wifi card starts blinking lights and nothing else. |
