Well, there are two kinds of people who use Amiga forums: people who like the Amiga and people who like their own youths.
But never mind that, I'm just curious what niche this computer will fill. The original Speccy filled the cheap niche, at the cost of horrible hardware and hardware. That has since been turned into its strength, with the bad graphics giving it a quirky charm. |

I had several Spectrum models in the 80's from the original rubber keyboard one, then the Spectrum+ and a few +2's. I don't consider any of them to be "bad" hardware, the rubber keyboard model was a bit crap just because of the keyboard, and there wasn't a sound chip on the platform until the + models.
The hardware was constrained for the price point but it still was pretty good for what it did. It was also very expandable with various peripherals that empowered a generation of kids and young people to a life of computing. A whole generation can't be wrong! |
