Super Skidmarks - Hard Drive Problem and Other Cars..

Has anyone actually managed to get Super Skidmarks to run totally from the hard drive on an actual Amiga.

I have a boxed copy of the original release which only allows installation of car disks... this even crashes out on my A1200.

I know that later versions (2.1?) of the program disk would allow for a full install but I cant find a non cracked version of this... and I dont think that the cracked versions are that stable.

I have seen various installers about but so far I have had no luck running them - just wondered if anyone else had experienced similar problems with this game or if anyone could help in finding a non cracked later prog disk... or is there a completed install I could downolad somewhere?

Also does anyone have the additional cars disk sets that were put together by Andrew Bolt - I registered them with the author years ago but of course have lost them along the way...

Super Skidmarks seems to be very buggy (no pun intended ), well at least the cracked version does. I bought a copy of Ultimate Super Skidmarks http://hol.abime.net/2124 from an Amiga show in Huddersfield a few years ago and its probably the best version of Skidmarks available for the Amiga. I'm sure I remember it running well under WinUAE but it's definitely perfect on a real CD32.

I tried to make a HDF file of the ADF version of Super Skidmarks but its just too buggy and always bloody crashes!

This works a treat - many thanks... did anyone have the additional cars that were available?

Or... does anyone have "Ultimate Super Skidmarks" that they could upload - that had a few more cars if I remember.

Sorry to keep on... want, want, want...

Ah cool... I have that exact disk so maybe I'll have a go at adding them. I presume the cars can be added too somehow?

I assume so. I'm sure there is a cars directory where you can add the new models from Ultimate. Problem is there are so many new tracks and cars that you'll probably need a massive HDF file. Not sure how much data is on the CD but there are a shit load of cars to choose from. I think there are additional sound effects as well maybe??

Well I don't have anything planned for the early part of the evening and it sounds intriguing so I'll try copying loads a stuff on top of the install and see what happens

Nice one killergorilla (and Peter for bringing this up!). At last, a fully working version of Super Skidmarks. adf's I've tried from various sites all froze on me no matter what config I used.

Cheers!

all the tracks on ultimate skidmarks seem to have the same filesize and crc exactly.

They are all the same tracks!

You can however dump all of the vehicles in the same directory and use any of them.

Ah I've found track disks 5 and 6 (data disks) these can be added with no probs

Not sure what the difference in .exe file is between them though... V2.2 vs V2.21 for datadisks...
