Cd32 from analogic computers not working properly

Hello everyone, I bought an amiga cd32 from analogic computers a fews months ago and when I put the games and demo discs in the intros load but when I press start to play the game the console resets its self. Doesn't make sense. Have got a boomerang cd32 controller, it might be that the controller is not properly compatible and needs an original commodore joypad. Anyone know what to do? Thanks.

Boomerang may not be the best but it's fully compatible. You can easily open that joypad to look if everything is ok.

They are considered absolutely awful but I've never heard them doing this.

Return the CD32? (You've probably left it too long. It will only have a 28 days warranty!)

Send it to AmigaKit for re-capping?

Cd32 console

To be honest I don't think there is anything wrong with cd32 console because the demo discs play and what I said about the controller compatibility is probably not the issue. It seems like a mystery because if the games machine was faulty or broken it wouldn't even load the games and if there was something wrong with controller the buttons wouldn't respond. There must be some way I can fix it, anyone know what I need to do? Thanks

Burn of the compilation disks like cd-200 and see. They do not require the start button.

Maybe the pad is wired incorrectly and acts as "reset" button.

I think your right about the controller mate, going to get an original commodore joypad soon and I bet that will work

If you could find out *why* it works you'd have an IGR (in game reset) which would be pretty handy.

This looks interesting :

That post about the megadrive amiga controller resetting when certain buttons were pressed makes sense. If the original controller start button works then I have solved the problem. Wiring of the boomerang controller is not in sync with the cd32 console. Maybe it needs physical maintenance of the electronics inside, would be a cool project.

There's nothing wrong with cd32 console though because cd's play fine. i still think it's the controller wiring. Waiting for an original commodore amiga cd32 joypad, will try the games with that. If it works, then I know I have to modify the boomerang controller. Thanks for you help.

You can try with standard Amiga joystick but you need to find CD32 game which don't need additional buttons.
