to save Blazer some work, ftm is not supported. All formats and custom sounds using audio.device as well. So, that's us.

Concerning ftm: Unsupported exec calls. Don't know, why we lost interest into looking further into the format... I seem to remember the replay came as a binary blob and was statically linked or something.

the other formats (like PaulRobotham) should work alright, even EP_Modulechange and WT's external replay loading should work.

Are this MD5 checksums, does not match the checksums of the ziks on exotica.org!

------------

Another issue:
Sometimes it happens, that BZRs display is not updated!
Example:
Playing "Offroad.jpo", display shows 19 subsongs, probably correct.
Doubleclick next zik, in this case "OffShoreWarrior.cust", display still shows 19 subsongs, but there are in true no subsongs!

-----------

Noisetracker ziks not detected:
All ziks from game "Operation Wolf"
Protracker zik from the game Tic Tac Toe "ELECTRONIQUE.mod" also not detected! (maybe in this case a bad rip, i dont know, at least Deliplayer for PC can play it)

hmmh, about the md5sums... checked against the md5 from Wanted team examples and also different (but fully working with uade2 nevertheless):

http://wt.exotica.org.uk/files/examp...injaSpirit.lzx
containing: 9554f1eb0dfa67c0988f3bf6f8786772 LME.NinjaSpirit

Maybe I got the others from Aminet, sorry for inconvenience.

Noisetracker is played with libxmp and not with uade... so I can't say.

No idea what kind of format Operation Wolf are, it's says soundtracker on UnExotica. BZR Player, XMPlay, Winamp on Windows and Protracker 3.15, EagePlayer on Amiga can't play them. Delitracker on Amiga can play them. Maybe a bad rip?

Tried Delitracker 2.34 and it doesn't recognise them.
They remotely look like ptk but even the computed file size is far off.
For me it's either a bad rip, or some pt clone.

Ok, this one works, again prefix only!

This is not correct, at least Eagleplayer can play the ziks, maybe Deliplayer too!
You have to load Noisetracker Player before, so probably not supported by UADE.
And i think its not a bad rip, since Don Adan has done it!

OK, I'm not an expert on Eagleplayer, just tried it quickly in WinUAE.

Anyways I've mailed the author of libxmp to take a look at those Operation Wolf modules.

Not with their original players. I tried EP 1.54 and EP 2.02.

True, with the NoiseTracker player from WT, i could play them on EP.

But these files aren't really Noisetracker. These have some "M.K." mark inside, the operation wolf files don't have that (and they only have 15 samples, normal NT mods have 31).

Actually he has done a few bad rips in the past
They really look like damaged ST15 to me. But perhaps they are just some special variant. I will investigate more.

EDIT: ok, it wasn't difficult to find out. These mods are ST15 with garbage data in their sequence. This isn't difficult to fix. Attached files should play everywhere, but someone has to check the tempo vs original game.

The modules at modland works fine.

Here's some info from the author of libxmp concerning the mods from Unexotica:

It's an old 15 samples 4 channels Soundtracker format, but not as old
as Ultimate Soundtracker, because the sample definitions contain sample
disk names (st-01: and st-02: ).

What may confuse format detectors is:

* It contains a pattern table, which looks like it has been created with
a bad editor. It refers to multiple patterns that have been deleted
from the module. Only two patterns are included in the module.

* Song length is specified as two patterns. A format detector must not
examine any of the invalid/missing patterns specified in the pattern table.

* The byte at offset 0x1d7 is 0x96, which means it cannot be the song
restart position in the pattern table. It's either the old song speed
setting or a bad value.

Could be CIA Speed, Ultimate Soundtracker had it, while later hadn't. UADE deliberately rejects the file because of trailing "garbage"

Haven't looked at the files yet (effects used and such), but it could be a later UST, because I think I have at least one with a ST-01: instrument name relaying on CIA Timing but using the effects like UST.

Nearly all format detectors examine the whole sequence to count the number of patterns (else other files might be unrecognised), and these files contain values of ancient, deleted patterns there. This is what confuses the detectors.
WT's player uses byte at $1d7 for tempo (bpm), which may or may not be the right thing to do, depending on the module.
Nothing mysterious here.

so non standard Soundtracker, thanks for investigating!
As mentioned, i stumbled over another zik(Protracker), which BZR cant recognize.(Eagleplayer and Deliplayer for PC can play)

Ok, this brings me (again) to the topic, why cant i simply add those WTs Noisetracker Player to BZRs Amigaplayer folder to make the ziks playable, like in Eagleplayer or Deliplayer for PC, or is it possible, at least i cant get it working this way!

--------

Again those UADE Richard Joseph Player.
My experiences for current Richard Joseph Player, it requires special conditions to play for example those Chaos engine ziks!
i have to name files like
rjp.filename
smp.filename
and you have to use
http://www.exotica.org.uk/wiki/The_Chaos_Engine
I have different rip here, but even if i rename them to mentioned format, its not recognized!
So i call it restriction!
Even those old Amiga Eagleplayer and Deltracker comes with a VectorDean Player without this limitations, no need of prefix and i can use my (old) rip of Chaos Engine ziks!
..and again it seems not possible to add (old) Vectordean Player to make my files recognized and played by BZR to bypass restriction of current Richard Joseph Player!

-----
Another problem/issue:
Obvisously BZR and his UADE Players recognizes some musicformats by its prefix/suffix only, is this good solution, i dont think so!
If i mistakenly named a Martin Walker zik as Wally Beben zik for example, BZR tries to load Wally Beben Player, but of course cant play.
Example:
Legends Of Valour.mw >give the file any different suffix and its not played anymore!
Deliplayer for PC seems to do some different method of detection, i can give mentioned file any suffix and its still detected as Martin Walker!

-------------

Jesper Olsen

Sample zik works, but not the ziks from game "Lollypop"! (windows error message "Assertion failed" again)
agaon Deliplayer for PC can play the ziks with same AmigaPlayer!

If all you want is to play them, these files can be converted to regular protracker.
Just adding the player will make it have precedence over the normal st-nt-pt stuff, which may make some other mod files to not play correctly (or you will needlessly swap players).

Richard Joseph
Lure of Temptress.rj
No detection of subsongs!

In general both formats have problems in BZR.
Richard Joseph format is in supported format list on BZR page, but it creates confusion, in real its the Richard Joseph Player format, played by FLOD engine, and not all ziks in this format are supported yet.
Above mentioned Richard Joseph format is played by UADE Amigaplayer, but not in supported format list, although the AmigaPlayer is available in original BZR package.

Jesper Olsen
Most of known ziks(HaraldhÕrdtand, LollyPop, GeorgGlaxo) does not work, either silence only, or windows error message again

I dont know, if following problem/issue was adequately answered?
Example:
I tried to play some ZoundMonitor ziks with BZR Player, i have copied correct Player to UADE/Player before.
Initially i had no success!
Tried Deliplayer for PC and Eagleplayer for Amiga and it works!

So hex-viewed those ZoundMonitor Player and it seems, that the player expects files like this:

sng.filename
and a folder called
Samples with instruments inside.

renaming my files to this does the trick for BZR.

So my question:
Is this a restriction of BZR or UADE?
Is it possible to configure anything to
accept different naming, you know i like suffix naming.

-------
Ben Daglish
ftp://ftp.modland.com/pub/modules/Be...02%20ingame.bd
not working!

---------
ForgottenWorlds_Game
Silence only!

--------
Wally Beben
FoundationsWaste zik detected as MP3!

This handling is also applicable for Synth Pack ziks(in your list of non working formats), but again prefix only and "smp.set" not working, you have to use same sampleset for each single song.

Example Dyter-07 zik
osp.highscore
smp.highscore>> working

highscore.osp
smp.set>> not working

same for Quartet, Synt Dream and Pierre Adane format too.

so supposed non working formats are working, if special naming is respected, but this is unsatisfactory situation!
